General Information
What is a Business Continuity Site?
It is a secure, offsite environment, hosted by our partner MGT Impact Solutions in Dallas, TX, that keeps designated Morehouse systems and applications running if our primary campus infrastructure becomes unavailable. It is a backup environment, not a change to how our systems normally operate.
Why is Morehouse testing this now?
Building the capability is only the first step. Regular testing confirms the environment works, so the College is prepared if it is ever needed during a real disruption such as a cyberattack, severe weather event, or equipment failure.
Is this in response to a security incident or threat?
No. This is a proactive, scheduled exercise and part of Morehouse's ongoing cyber resiliency program. It is not related to any current incident.
How often will testing occur?
Business Continuity testing is planned as an annual exercise, so this will become a recurring part of how ITS validates the College's readiness.
What to Expect During Testing
Which systems are involved?
Virtual Machines (VMs) within the Morehouse data center that are used to support network connectivity, card access, ID creation, etc.
Will my data or in-progress work be affected?
No. Testing activates replicated copies of designated systems in the offsite environment to confirm they function correctly; it does not alter your data or put it at risk.
How long will the test last?
The test is scheduled for 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm EST on Friday, August 7, 2026. ITS will notify the campus if the window needs to be extended.
Roles and Support
Who is involved in running the test?
ITS is coordinating the exercise with MGT Impact Solutions, whose Network Operations Center monitors and manages the failover and recovery activity. Select administrative departments and academic units may also participate in validating their own processes during the test.
Who is MGT and why do they have access to our systems?
MGT Impact Solutions is Morehouse's contracted partner for Business Continuity-as-a-Service. Their role is limited to hosting and managing the offsite replication environment, which is connected to campus through dedicated, secure VPN connectivity.
What should I do if I notice something unusual during the test?

Who can I contact for concerns or additional questions?
Contact the ITS Service Desk at 404.507.8633 or https://servicedesk.morehouse.edu, or your department's IT liaison, if applicable.
