- What percentage of matching in the Similarity Report constitutes plagiarism?
Turnitin does not decide if a paper is plagiarized. It is a tool that helps you check for possible plagiarism. The report highlights parts that might be copied, but you must review them and decide if plagiarism has happened.
- Do students retain copyright over the material submitted?
Yes, students keep ownership of their work, while Turnitin only stores it and uses it to check for similarity without sharing it with others.
- Do students see the similarity report?
Students can see their Turnitin similarity report only if their instructor enables this option in the assignment settings.
