How to Create a Classic Quiz

This step-by-step guide from the Office of Digital Instruction walks you through creating a Classic Quiz in Canvas.

1. Open Canvas
   
   
    
2. Click on your course from the Dashboard
   
   
   
    
3. Click > Quizzes  in the Course Navigation menu
   
   
    
4. Click  >  +Quizzes/Survey
   
   
   
    
5. Click > Classic Quizzes,  from the Choose a Quiz Engine
   
   
    
6. Click > Submit
   
   
    
7. ​​​​​​​Add a Quiz Title and add Quiz Instructions
   
   
    
8. Click > Save
   
   
    
9. Click the Questions tab
   
   
    
10. Click the +New Question button
    
    
     
11. ​​​​​​​Choose a question type from the drop-down menu. True False is used in this example.
    
    
     
12. ​​​​​​​Add the question in the text field for a True/False question. True will be selected by default.
    
    
     
13. Click the Update Question button
    
    
     
14. ​​​​​​​Click the +New Question button to add another question
    
    
     
15. Repeat the process to add more questions
