Family Emergency – Absence Request

Tags Absences

Service Overview

Use this service to request an excused absence if you are unable to attend class because of an unexpected family emergency involving a member of your immediate or extended family. This may include situations where your immediate support is needed for a child, spouse, parent, sibling, or another family member.

You may submit your request before obtaining supporting documentation. If documentation is not available at the time of submission, you may provide it during the review process. Requests cannot be approved until all required documentation has been received.

Supporting documentation should verify the nature of the family emergency and may include documentation from a healthcare provider, law enforcement agency, or other appropriate authority, depending on the circumstances.

Submission of a request does not guarantee approval. All requests are reviewed in accordance with the Morehouse College Class Attendance Policy.
