Service Overview

Use this service to request an excused absence if you are required to attend a legal or judicial proceeding that prevents you from attending class.

Qualifying appearances may include jury duty, court hearings, traffic citations, or other court-mandated appearances.

Official documentation is required at the time of submission. Documentation must verify the date, time, and nature of the required legal or judicial appearance. Requests submitted without appropriate documentation cannot be considered for approval.

Submission of a request does not guarantee approval. All requests are reviewed in accordance with the Morehouse College Class Attendance Policy.

  • Jury duty
  • Court hearings
  • Traffic citations requiring a court appearance
  • Subpoenaed appearances
  • Other court-mandated legal proceedings
     

Before You Submit

Before submitting your request, please ensure that you:

  • Submit your request within five (5) calendar days of the absence.
  • Upload all required supporting documentation with your request.
  • Ensure your documentation supports the reason for your absence.
  • Have not already submitted a request for the same absence. 
  • Understand that submission of a request does not guarantee approval and that this absence category is generally not considered eligible for an official class excuse under the Morehouse College Class Attendance Policy.

Important: Do not upload photographs containing injuries, blood, bodily fluids, or restroom-related images. Requests containing inappropriate images may be denied.
