Strategies for Staying Cyber-safe

The 4-core strategies for staying cyber-safe, as outlined by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), typically include the following four key practices:

  1. Use Strong Passwords: Create long, unique passwords that combine uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using easily guessable information.

  2. Enable Multifactor Authentication (MFA): Add an extra layer of security by requiring multiple forms of verification to access your accounts, such as a text message code or authentication app.

  3. Keep Software Up to Date: Regularly update your operating system, applications, and security software to protect against vulnerabilities and threats.

  4. Recognize & Report Phishing: Be Cautious with Email and Online Communications and avoid clicking on suspicious links or providing personal information to unknown sources.

Implementing these strategies can significantly reduce your risk of falling victim to cyber threats.
